A very common question is “How much water to drink during exercise? And of course this is not a question to which the same answer can be given for everyone. And this is because everyone is different.You must take into account several factors, such as the rate of sweating, humidity and heat and in the environment, also the time and intensity of the exercise.
The American Council on Exercise has recommended the following basic guidelines for drinking water before, during and after exercise: “Drink 0.5 to 0.6 liter of water approximately 2 to 3 hours before exercise begins. Drink 1/4 liter of water 20 to 30 minutes before starting exercise or warm-up. And during exercise, drink 200 to 300 ml of water every 10 to 20 minutes. And 1/4 of water no more than 30 minutes after exercise.
Athletes may want to measure the amount of fluid they lose during exercise. And to measure more specifically the amount of water they should drink: (.50 to .75 lt of water per pound of body weight).
